ARTEMIS AND APOLLO

This is one of the most extraordinary stories of all the Greek myths. According to Hippolytus, the twins who were the children of Zeus and Leto, were bound by a deep and strange love.

Apollo's amorous adventures were legion, he was alway falling in love, I suppose that as the God of Music and Unmarried men, he would be especially prone to the passions. Artemis was quite different, she had no place in her life for love or the joys of marriage, Apollo made sure that neither imortals or mortals ever got near enough to steal her affection.

Artemis was well aware of her brother's love for his many admirers, but she never permitted anybody take her place in his heart.

The remarkable twins were the subject always of one another's jealousy … and love, all through the ages.
